I started thinking about some familiar names in the industry, but when I contacted them, I found out that they don’t service my particular neighborhood. How disappointing, and what a waste of time! What was great about the website was they had a quick link to all of these various providers with an address and zip code lookup interface where I quickly received an answer as to whether the ISP serviced my address.

From what I understand, DSL is cheaper overall than cable internet, and the DSL infrastructure is considered well established where I live, so reliability was pretty much guaranteed. I decided that I liked the idea of getting connected with Verizon. They currently are offering basic service for $19.99 a month, but what was particularly appealing to me was that they guaranteed this price for life if I signed a two year agreement. Since I don’t plan on switching providers any time soon, and a neighbor said they were very happy with their Verizon service, I was able to take advantage of this offer, plus I bundled it with television and home phone for extra savings.
